Installation

Download only from the Dockwave releases page. Check the release notes and any Beta label before choosing a build. If no app archive is listed, there is no build to install from that page yet.

Install with Finder

1. Download the app archive from the chosen release and open it to extract Dockwave.app.
2. In Finder, drag the extracted Dockwave.app into /Applications (the Applications folder). Use Finder for this move so macOS recognizes the installed location.
3. Open Dockwave from Applications.

The universal app targets Apple Silicon and Intel. macOS 11.0 is the declared minimum; compatibility on that version is untested, not guaranteed. The current native evidence is from macOS 26.

When macOS blocks the first launch

Dockwave has no Developer ID signature and is not notarized. An ad-hoc signature is not verification by Apple. Approve the app only if you trust its source and intend to run it.

1. On macOS 26, the initial “Dockwave” Not Opened warning says Apple could not verify the app is free of malware. Its buttons are Move to Trash and Done. Choose Done if you intend to continue; moving it to Trash removes the app.
2. After that blocked launch, open System Settings → Privacy & Security and scroll to the security section.
3. Find Dockwave’s blocked-app notice and choose Open Anyway there — this control is not in the initial warning dialog.
4. Confirm the subsequent warning and authenticate if macOS asks, then open the app.

Wording can differ between macOS versions. If the exception is unavailable, or macOS reports a different security problem, stop and consult Apple’s guidance on opening apps or your device administrator. Do not disable system protections to continue.
